There is a particular order of activities that your child will do, starting with simpler activities and moving to more complex ones. In order to move to the next activity, your child has to complete the current level accurately and quickly. Reading Doctor® Online will automatically adjust the difficulty level for your child! You may notice it repeating activities or taking your child backwards in their phonics sequence sometimes. The program does this to ensure skills are mastered before moving on.
Sometimes, it will be obvious that the level that has been set for your child at the beginning of the program is too easy or too difficult. If you want to, you can change the difficulty level for your child through your Parent Dashboard. Please note: changing the difficulty level will result in your child losing their progress to date because this action restarts their sequence!
To adjust the difficulty level for your child:
1️⃣ Log in to your Parent Dashboard and click on your child's name:
2️⃣ Under your child's settings, find the 'Set Starting Level' option and select the lowest level that is true for your child (If you are not sure, select 'Level 1' or contact us for help):
3️⃣ Press the 'Save' button. The next time your child does their activities, the program will start the sequence again at the level you selected above.
